Howard Gardner intelligence theory
Introduction- the various theories of intelligence, Howard Gardner proposed a unique theory of intelligence known as the "Multiple Intelligence Theory". This theory was first published in 1983 in his famous book Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Eight categories of intelligence were described according to this theory-
1- Logical Mathematical Intelligence- Logical Mathematical Intelligence and Logic is one of the areas related to mathematics which is responsible for all types of abilities, talents and skills. It is related to numerical abilities. It is divided into the following components which include deductive reasoning ability, Inductive ability: Scientific thinking involves solving logical puzzles. In this field Scientist, mathematician, philosopher, logical mathematical intelligence etc.
2- Spatial intelligence - Spatial intelligence is related to people who use the skills of outline and drawing. In this, different from logical mathematical intelligence and compatible with the universe, study of maps etc.
Those related to visual arts and chess playing include also painters, architects, engineers, mechanics, surveyors, sailors, craftsmen and chess players etc.
3- Musical Intelligence -
Musical intelligence is related to the abilities, talents and skills related to the field of music. It includes the abilities of a person to learn new sounds, composition, use of tone etc. while enjoying the types of musical expression. If a person demonstrates its use then such people are called musicians.
4- Linguistic Intelligence -
This type of intelligence is responsible for all types of language related system abilities, talents and skills available in humans. It is the ability of a person to deal with grammar and speech power. It is known on the following basis like -In syntax, semantics, practicality or utility and more school oriented skills like written or oral expression. This type of intelligence is found in lawyers, lecturers, writers, lyricists, journalists etc.
5 - Physical Operational Intelligence -
This type of intelligence is related to the use of their physical organs by individuals to show their abilities, talents and skills or is used to perform skillful and purposeful operations, in a way when a player uses his If a person plays using his body parts or a dancer uses his body parts while dancing, then that physical operation is functional intelligence.
6- Inter- personal or interpersonal relationship intelligence -
This type of intelligence involves the ability to understand others, that is, how a person establishes his relationship with others besides himself, this is the characteristic of interpersonal relationship intelligence. Apart from this, it also includes the ability to understand others. It includes the ability to act productively based on the knowledge of which is required for social interactions in a person's daily life. In practical life, this type of intelligence is seen in political, religious leaders, teachers, doctors, psychiatrists etc.
7- Intra- personal intelligence - It involves knowledge of internal aspects of oneself, access to one's own feelings and emotions. Under this, a person has the ability to know about himself. It includes his ability to use his store of knowledge in practical situations. Cognitive abilities include knowledge of styles and mental functioning and one's feelings, emotions and skills. A person has access to this type of intelligence only through self-expression, i.e. through language, music, visual arts and other such expressions. Examples of this are our practical life. This type of intelligence is found in saints, sages etc.
8 - Natural Intelligence - This type of intelligence includes the ability to recognize facts related to a person's nature, observe them, classify them and understand them well. Under this, a person is closer to nature and concentrates more on natural phenomena. Among the tasks used in this, information from the weather department, understanding the behavior of wild and other types of animals and more attention is given to natural facts.
